What does a Complementary
Therapy session comprise of?
Each person is unique so each session will differ according
to the specific needs of the client. Prior to a session
it is important to prepare the environment to make it
as relaxing and reassuring as possible. This can involve
the use of atmospheric music and aromatic oils. During
your session Tina promises that you will have 100% of
her attention. Further information can be found about
specific treatments.
The First Session
On
the first visit, Tina,
a qualified holistic practitioner, will ask you to fill
in a brief medical form, followed by a chat through your
past and present health and lifestyle, focusing upon what
treatments are applicable to your symptoms.
Tina will recommend from the range of treatments
that she offers and will discuss this with you, and then
treatment can commence.
Further Sessions
A typical session takes between 45 – 60 minutes where
the clients normally relaxes on a couch and a routine
is followed.
After the Session:
Aftercare
It is recommended that you rest as much as possible
after the treatment in order enhance positive effects,
and drink enough water over the next 24 hours to aid the
detoxifying process.
You may experience one or more of the following:
- Feeling cold
- Mild headache
- Mild tiredness
- Needing to go to the loo more frequently
All of the above are an indication that toxins are being
eliminated from the body. These symptoms should disappear
after 24-48 hours.
After one or two treatments your body may respond in
a very definite way. Most people note a sense of well-being
and relaxation; sometimes people report feeling lethargic,
nauseous or tearful, but this is transitory and is a part
of the healing process. Information on such after-effects
is vital to feed back to Tina, as it demonstrates how
your body is responding to treatment. This will help the
therapiist to tailor a treatment plan specific to your
needs.
Recommended Sessions
As a result of the session the main aim is to relax the
body and to start the process of re-tuning the body back
into it’s natural balance. This on average takes 3-6 sessions
and typically it is a good idea to have as many as possible
on a weekly basis, with follow-ups on maintenance work
every 3-4 weeks. Advice is also given to all clients on
aftercare.
As we are not medically trained if there are any particular
problems areas which should be brought to the client's
attention then it will be recommended that they consult
their GP.
